Lavery's is Belfast's oldest family run bar and has just undergone extensive renovations to bring it up to 21st century standards including beer garden / smoking area for the forthcoming smoking ban. Great care has been taken to preserve the traditional character which has made Lavery's world famous whilst introducing modern comforts and amenities to enhance costumer satisfaction.
Lavery's consists of four bars under one roof. On the ground floor rests the elegant Public Bar (with adjoining Off Licence) and bohemian Back Bar, disabled access to both. The first floor is home to live music and alternative club venue The Bunker, and on the top floor is the Attic Pool Rooms.
Food is served daily from midday until 9pm in all bars, The menu has managed to combine Lavery's ethos of wholesome, quality meals across a range of varied dishes. The menu now features a full range of steaks, vegetarian options, various pizza and platter options, and daily carvery with ealthy options. Group bookings are welcome.
The entertainment programme has been specifically designed for each bar and features only 'real' music from a variety of genres.
All major sporting events are shown on big screen plasma TVs with regular associated promotions.
Restaurants
Lavery's is well known for serving traditional hearty pub grub at affordable prices. Food is served daily from noon until 9pm in the Public Bar, Back Bar and Pool Room. The menu caters for all tastes with a variety of dishes gathered from across the globe.
Ever popular is the daily carvery which offers a choice of roast dinners, fusion cuisine, vegetarian option, light bites, snacks, salads and sandwiches. The carvery has been design to suit the modern worker in the city on a short lunch break and is available between noon and 2pm.
A full menu operates between noon and 9pm and again encompasses a variety of styles. It is a firm favourite for meat lovers with its full range of steaks (including the massive T-Bone), grills and Lavery's famous Ulster Fry. Meal deals with a free pint are also available.
Platters are available throughout the day with create your own option so you can design your own platter to share with friends. This option is very popular in the Pool Room.
Group bookings are welcome. Private parties and corporate events are also catered for with a choice of private rooms available.
Clubs
Lavery's is home to various clubs nights, all with alternative leanings, across all 3 floors.
The Back Bar has free admission every night. Mondays: Hemp, reggae club. Tuesdays: Triptastic, classic rock and soul. Thursdays: rockin student sounds at Independence - Stella £1, Vodka & Mixer £1.50. Feel Good Vibeday: uplifting after work club, Friday, 6pm. The Retro Disco, 10pm, a selection of classics tunes. Eclectic Electric: genre jumping mix of alternative hits on Saturdays. Sunday: Future Sounds: electronic beats.
The Bunker on the 1st floor. Lavery's Student Night every Tuesday. This is an eclectic mix of great music past and present. Drink promos: Smirnoff £1, Stella bottles £1, Bulmer's pint bottles £1.50. Gigantic every Friday at 11pm with a forward thinking play list of Indie and Alternative rock, all pints are £2. The Bunker Club with Dj Gregz : Rocking Indie Electro Disco Party and takes place every Saturday from 11pm, Smirnoff & Stella are £1.50 each, pint bottles of Bulmer's are £2. Necrodanse gothic club, monthly Thursdays.
Underground clubs feature every Saturday in the Attic from 10pm with Cherrybomb on the 1st Saturday, Dirty Needles on the 2nd and 4th , and Twitch on the 3rd week.
Events
Live events are an integral part of Lavery's entertainment programme.
The Bunker hosts various regular live music clubs and well as one off gigs by touring acts. Club Sandwich takes place every Monday and twice monthly Saturdays and showcases the best new talent from Belfast and further afield. The best new Indie and rock features on an monthly basis with Northern Ireland Next Generation, Audio Ill, Sounds Of Northern Ireland, and Claw showcases. Punk bands get a regular outing at Blackdrop, whereas metal is the order of the day at Point Blank.

Every Wednesday in the Back Bar Performance acoustic sessions feature open mic and featured artists. Everyone is welcome to have a go.
The Public Bar. Every Thursday features Lady Plays The Tunes. Every week resident Clair McGreevy is joined by a contemporary female artist. Listen to an interesting blend of original music mixed with outstanding interpretations.
Every Sunday: Chicks with Picks. Female fronted folk acts that help give Sundays that mellow mood.
The Pavilion
Nicknamed "The Big House" by the locals, due to its' three storeys, The Pavilion Bar draws its clientelle from all over the city and beyond.
The Public Bar on the ground floor is a long hall bar with wooden panelling and high ornate ceilings. Its long thin shape lends to an intimate atmosphere, giving it a reputation for being one of the best places to watch live sports on its many plasma screens. On the weekend enjoy a dance & sing along with our resident DJs Brian McAuley on a Friday or John E. on a Saturday night. The Middle Bar with Gothic Oak interiors provides excellent acoustics for live entertainment hosting an eclectic mix that has ranged from Indie, Punk, Metal, Soul and Blues etc. to Burlesque and Prom nights. During Saturday and Sunday afternoons the Middle Bar becomes a non-smoking family restaurant where customers can choose from an extensive menu that provides quality food and wines at very affordable prices.
The Pool Room on the top floor has six well maintained pool tables, two plasma screens and a jukebox, allowing the punters to decide on their own entertainment. Every Saturdays and there’s alternative clubs from 9pm. It also is host to the Pool Competition every Tuesday night
